What can I say about a writer who knows how to pull on the emotions of women around the world? A coming of age story of two girls from two different worlds, coming together every summer on Martha's Vineyard to be summer sisters.

What I love about these characters is how complex they are. As a reader, I wavered in my love and disappointment in each character throughout the story that spans twenty years.

The feeling of summer is perfection in this book and the familial story winds its way around the ups and downs, the beautiful moments and the heartbreaking ones.
